RECONECTA Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026 · Version 2026-10-13
At RECONECTA we take the privacy of your data very seriously, especially the sensitive information about your relationship and your faith.
1. Data Controller
The party responsible for processing your data is Yael Valenzuela, with address at Calle 5ta, No. 3, Ens. Enriquillo, Km 9.5 Av. Independencia, República Dominicana. For any privacy question or request, write to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com.
2. Data We Collect
- Registration data: name, email, phone, date of birth and family role (husband/wife).
- Profile data: information about the relationship (years married, children).
- Assessment data: answers to personality, love-language and marriage assessments.
- Content you create: Emotional Journal entries, messages between spouses and personal notes.
- Payment data: when a church buys or renews a package, we keep the payer's name and email, the PayPal transaction number, the amount, the date and the status of the payment. We never receive or store card numbers or bank details; PayPal handles them directly.
- Technical data: IP address, device type and usage data, for security and to improve the service.
Because RECONECTA is used within churches, your use of the platform may reveal your religious beliefs. We treat this, together with the information about your relationship, as sensitive data, and we process it only with your express consent.
Note: We do not collect data about sexual orientation, since the service is designed specifically for marriages (husband and wife) within the congregational context.
3. Visibility of Assessment Results
This application includes assessments about your relationship. They exist to help you and your spouse grow together.
We want you to know clearly: the general results of these assessments may be seen by your church's pastoral team (your Leader, Director or Pastor), as part of the support they offer you. For this reason, before you first use the application you are expressly asked for your consent; without it the platform cannot be used.
That support may include your Leader or pastoral team contacting you by phone, messages or in person and reviewing your progress in the lessons, as described in section 6 of the Terms and Conditions (Participation in the Group). You can leave the program at any time by requesting the removal of your account.
4. Artificial Intelligence
Your data is not sent to, shared with, or processed by any artificial intelligence service (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or similar).
- Assessment results are calculated with fixed rules on our own server, not with AI.
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- If this ever changes, we will tell you in advance and ask for your consent first.
5. Cookies
We use only three cookies. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies (no analytics or ad service is integrated).
- RECONECTA_SESSION (essential): keeps you signed in while you use the application. It is deleted when you sign out or close the browser.
- RECONECTA_RECUERDO (essential, optional): only created if you turn on "Remember me" when signing in, so you are not asked for your password again on that device. It lasts up to 180 days or until you sign out manually.
- reconecta_device_id (functional, only with your acceptance): if you accept the cookie notice and then download the Reconecta-Dúo explanatory document from the public page, this cookie is created to identify the device and record that download (together with the name and email you give in that form). It lasts 1 year.
Some screens load fonts and icons from Google Fonts and Cloudflare (cdnjs). To deliver them, those services receive your IP address, as with any web page; we do not send them any other data of yours.
6. Purposes of Processing
- Providing the service and generating results and personalized advice.
- Enabling pastoral or leadership support (with your consent when you join a church network).
- Processing payments and renewals of church packages.
- Sending important communications about your account, activity notifications and method content.
- Keeping the platform secure and preventing abuse.
7. Emotional Journal Privacy
Your Emotional Journal entries are private by default and protected by an additional PIN. Its content is only visible to:
- You.
- Your spouse, only if you explicitly choose to share a specific entry.
- Your assigned leader or pastor, only if the church's settings require it and you gave your consent when joining.
8. Legal Basis
We process your data on the basis of performing the contract (when you use the app), your express consent (for sensitive data) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
9. Where Your Data Is Stored
The application and its database are hosted by Hostinger in its data centers, which may be located in a country other than yours; in that case your data travels to and is stored in that country. You can ask us for the exact location by writing to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com. Hostinger acts only as a hosting provider: it stores the data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.
10. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising. We only share what is strictly necessary with:
- Hostinger – hosting of the application and database.
- PayPal – payment processing. When you pay, you do so on PayPal's own site and under its privacy policy.
- Google (Gmail) – sending of the application's emails (notifications, reminders, password recovery).
- Google Fonts and Cloudflare – delivery of fonts and icons (they only receive your IP address).
- Your church's leadership (Pastor/Director/Leader) – strictly for support, as explained in section 3.
- Competent authorities – only when there is a legal obligation.
11. Security Measures
We apply technical and organizational security measures, such as encryption of passwords and PINs, limited access to databases and periodic reviews, to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss or alteration. No system is completely invulnerable; if an incident affecting your data occurs, we will notify you as required by law.
12. Retention and Deletion of Your Data
- While your account exists, we keep your data to provide the service.
- To leave RECONECTA, you can request it with the "Request account removal" button in My Profile, by telling your Leader or Pastor, or by writing to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com. Accounts are removed by your church's team (Leader, Director or Pastor) or by the RECONECTA administrator.
- When an account is removed, it is immediately deactivated (it can no longer be used) and kept for a 30-day grace period, in case you decide to come back: within that period it can be restored with your progress intact. After 30 days, your personal data, assessments, journal and messages are permanently erased. Your spouse keeps their own account and data. Payment records are kept only for as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- If your church's package expires, access is suspended for the Pastor and the whole church network, but data is not deleted, so that it can be recovered if the church renews. Even if the package has expired, you can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com.
- The server's automatic backups are overwritten periodically; deleted data disappears from them when they are replaced.
13. Your Rights
Whatever your country of residence, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data and your account.
- Object to or restrict the processing of your data, and withdraw your consent.
- Request a copy of your data (portability).
You can request the removal of your account from My Profile → Request account removal, as explained in section 12. For any other right, write to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com; we will respond within a maximum of 30 days. Exercising these rights is free.
14. Minors
We do not knowingly collect data from people under 18. If we detect an account belonging to a minor, we will delete it immediately.
15. Changes to This Policy
The date and version at the top of this page indicate which version is in force. If we make important changes, we will notify you in the application or by email before they take effect.
16. Contact
