RECONECTA Terms and Conditions of Use

1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to RECONECTA, a service of Yael Valenzuela. By registering for, accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of the Service

RECONECTA is a technology platform for marriage support and for strengthening couple relationships, mainly within congregations and churches. It provides assessment tools, educational content linked to the method's physical book, advice and progress-tracking features.

Important: The service is a tool for emotional, strategic and spiritual support. It is not clinical therapy or professional psychological advice, and it does not guarantee reconciliation or any specific result in the relationship.

3. Minimum Age and Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use RECONECTA. Use by minors is strictly prohibited. The platform is designed for couples (husband and wife) who want to strengthen their union.

4. Registration and Account Security

You agree to provide truthful, accurate and complete information when registering. You are solely responsible for keeping your password and your Emotional Journal PIN confidential. Account sharing is not allowed; each user must have their own personal access.

5. Rules of Conduct

By using RECONECTA you agree to behave with complete respect. It is strictly prohibited to:

• Use the platform to harass, threaten, insult or intimidate your spouse or others.
• Use the app's tools to violate the privacy of others.
• Share third parties' personal data without their explicit consent.
• Use the service for unlawful or unauthorized purposes.

Church leaders (Pastor, Director, Leader) who can see information about the couples they support agree to use it only for that support and to keep it confidential. Before using the platform, each of them must accept RECONECTA's Confidentiality Agreement.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules.

6. Participation in the Group

By joining RECONECTA through your church, you agree to take part in the program and to receive guidance, support and follow-up from your group Leader and the pastoral team (Director and Pastor). This includes that they may contact you by phone, messages or in person, review your progress in the lessons, and talk with you about the general results of your assessments.

You also agree to respect your group's rules of conduct and to keep confidential what other couples share in the group meetings.

Your participation is voluntary: you can leave the program whenever you want by requesting the removal of your account from My Profile or through your Leader.

7. User Content

You are responsible for the content you create on the platform (journal entries, messages, assessment answers). You grant RECONECTA a non-exclusive licence to use that content solely to operate the service, always in accordance with our Privacy Policy. This licence ends when your account is permanently erased.

8. Intellectual Property

The content provided by the platform (lessons, devotionals, assessments, logos, design and software) belongs to RECONECTA or its licensors, to the extent recognized by law, and may not be copied or redistributed without authorization.

9. Packages, Payments and Renewal

• Access to RECONECTA is contracted by the church, through its Pastor or representative, by purchasing a package. Each package includes a set number of user accounts ("tickets") and one year of access from activation, and is linked to the method's physical book.
• Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by PayPal; RECONECTA never receives card or bank details.
• There are no automatic charges. Renewal is manual: before the expiration date we will send reminder emails to the Pastor. If the church renews before expiration, the new year is added to the current expiration date.
• When an account is removed, its ticket stays reserved during the 30-day grace period (in case the person comes back) and returns to the church when the account is permanently erased.

10. Expiration of the Package

If the package is not renewed, from the day after the expiration date, access is suspended for the Pastor and the church's entire network (Directors, Leaders and couples). Expiration does not delete any data: when the church renews, everyone regains access with their progress intact. Even while the package is expired, every person can ask us to delete their data, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

11. Refunds

• A refund can be requested only before the physical book has been shipped. In that case, the amount paid is refunded through PayPal to the same account that made the payment.
• Once the book has been shipped, no refunds are given, since the physical book cannot be returned.
• To request a refund, write to ifamilyinternational@gmail.com including the PayPal transaction number.
• These rules do not limit any right that the consumer-protection laws of your country grant you and that cannot be waived.

12. Technology and Artificial Intelligence

AI-based programming assistance tools were used in the development of RECONECTA's software, always under the direction and review of the RECONECTA team. The application itself does not use artificial intelligence to process your data, and your information is not sent to any AI service, as detailed in the Privacy Policy.

13. Limitation of Liability

The application is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, RECONECTA is not responsible for:

• Emotional harm arising from the use of the application.
• Failed reconciliations or marital breakdowns.
• Actions taken by other users or by church leaders on or off the platform.
• Service interruptions or technical errors.

To the extent permitted by law, RECONECTA's total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the service during the 12 months before the claim. RECONECTA is a support tool and does not replace professional help in cases of serious crisis, violence or abuse.

14. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and request the removal of your account from My Profile, from your church's team or by email; removed accounts have a 30-day grace period before being permanently erased, as explained in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, prolonged inactivity or expiration of the church's package, as described in section 10.

15. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these terms. The date and version at the top of this page indicate which version is in force. We will notify you of important changes by email or in the application before they take effect.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, and any dispute will be submitted to the courts of Santo Domingo, without prejudice to the rights that the laws of your country of residence grant you and that cannot be waived by contract.
